Samantha Sengel, the chief administrative officer for Albuquerque, has led a new leadership team to ensure the city government works for its residents and communities. The team includes a team with the ability to manage complexity, a commitment to Albuquerque, and a perspective to improve delivery. This includes Cecily Barker as chief of police, Carla Martinez as chief financial officer, Matthew Whelan as chief operations officer, and Raul Bujanda as executive director of public safety. Malaquias “JR” Rael, chief of staff, has executive leadership experience across state government and has been appointed as interim chief administrator of the city.
