Retired Marine gets help with solar panels after KMBC investigation

Retired Marine in Belton, Missouri, who received help from Jesse Wiederin, owner of Solar Guys USA, after a KMBC 9 News investigation revealed that his solar panels failed to work and he and his wife are paying on a loan totalling more than $42,000 for their solar system. Wiedterin offered to help Montes finish hooking up the solar system and installed a new meter on his behalf of Evergy, Evergy. Montes has since hired an attorney and is seeking guidance for their contract with Evergy regarding the process of installing solar systems. Bob Solger, founder and emeritus board member of the Missouri Solar Energy Industries Association and managing board member, urges consumers to make sure companies abide by codes of ethics. The investigation continues to investigate problems with solar loans or high debts.
