Extensions available for Hawaii taxpayers as recent storms push deadlines

The extension is available for individuals affected by these events, with an L-115 form that applies to state returns. Tax Services of Hawaii Inc. Senior Tax Advisor Gorden Gates recommends filing for an extension, which can result in smaller penalties. He also recommends working out an installment plan with the IRS to pay off the extension. Changes under President Donald Trump's Big Beautiful Bill Act have also resulted in larger deductions on certain itemizations and various credits.
