Sixteen-year-old student Eric Billups was killed in a shooting at a bus stop near Hyde Park Academy High School in Chicago, according to a police report. The shooting occurred after school had ended due to an earlier altercation. The shooter and Billups had planned to fight after school. Billups, who was shot six times, was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition and pronounced dead at 3:48 p.m. The girl was wounded once in the calf and was taken to the hospital in fair condition. No arrests have been made. The incident occurred two blocks from the school.
