TIMELINE: Severe weather risk could bring hail and high winds to Oklahoma

Oklahoma is facing a marginal risk of severe weather starting Tuesday afternoon, with potential hail and wind threats, and chances for severe weather throughout the week. The biggest risk with the storms will be hail and strong winds. Hail up to the size of half-dollars is possible and winds up to 60 mph are possible as storms move through. Severe weather chances are likely to start around 4 p.m. on Tuesday and affect western, northern and central Oklahoma. However, the risk of significant weather will decrease until early Wednesday morning, when storms are expected to fire off around the Kansas border. Areas such as Wakita City, Ponca City, and Woodward could also see isolated hail threats and heavy rain. On Thursday, there is another risk for severe severe weather for Oklahoma, with a low threat for a low tornado threat.
