Doc10 film fest comes out swinging bigger after Trump's arts cuts

Chicago's Doc10 film festival has expanded its programming to include “Speak Truth” series, a series of film screenings and post-show discussions intended to provoke civic dialogue on urgent contemporary issues. This comes after the Trump administration cut $1 billion in funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which includes funds to PBS. The Chicago Media Project (CMP), the group behind Doc10, also had its funding withdrawn from the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA), and expanded programming following the change. The festival's theme is "collective courage," with a focus on the power of media, collective organizing and solidarity in times of enforcement.
