The Canyon Fire in the El Paso Mountains near Ridgecrest, California, has killed a pilot named as Ramzi Al-Shurman, a father of three, in a suspected plane crash that ignited the fire. The 2006 Cessna 182T, which reportedly went down shortly after takeoff from Inyokern Airport, is believed to have been the cause of the fire, which has scorched over 2,000 acres and is being linked to the plane crash. A GoFundMe account has been established for Al Shurman's wife Nadeem and her three children following his sudden death. The fund has raised nearly $47,000 for Nadeen and her children, with the goal of $100,000 having already raised almost $50,000. The fire is currently 50% contained.
