San Diego County has received nearly $100 million for a proposed behavioral health facility in San Diego. The $99.5 million was conditionally awarded to the county during the second round of funding for Proposition 1, which changed how California allocates funding and delivers behavioral health services. The county plans to use this funding to build a new Behavioral Health Wellness Campus in the Midway District, which would add 210 new treatment beds for San Diegans on Medi-Cal, including veterans. The project is estimated to cost $210 million. Over $6 billion was approved through the Proposition to build new mental health and substance use facilities throughout California.
