A study by the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin has found that the average person with both good and bad news tend to share the bad news first. This is because it reduces the worry factor and is easier to accept the good news. However, the study also suggests that people tend to prefer stories with happy endings and prefer to be given possible solutions rather than having to request them.
