A couple of isolated storms are expected to form over Western Kansas this evening, with damaging winds and large hail being primary concerns. High fire danger is expected across the state, although any storm may not produce much rainfall but could enhance a wildfire. A cold front is expected to trigger a wave of strong to severe storms from Iowa back over Nebraska into northern Kansas from afternoon through the evening. High temperatures will warm on Thursday afternoon, with temperatures expected to reach the 70s and 80s. Additional storms are predicted for this weekend, with the front expected to lift back to the north on Saturday, enhancing more severe storm development. The Storm Prediction Center has circled the area where some may become severe, particularly over Southeast Kansas.
