Lt. Gov. hires former attorney general amid campaign finance probe by current AG

The Lieutenant Governor has hired former state Attorney General David Louie to represent her campaign, Friends of Sylvia Luke, amid a campaign finance probe by current AG Anne Lopez. Despite this, both Lopez and Louie have stated there is no conflict of interest. Louie served as the state attorney general from 2011 to 2014 and Lopez served as his special assistant for nearly two years. His firm has been represented by him in nearly $3 million in civil cases over the last decade. However, retired Circuit Court Judge Randal Lee questioned whether there was a conflict of interests due to Louie's role in other matters.
