Tolland County, Connecticut state representative for the 8th House District, Rick Ackert, has announced his intention to run for lieutenant governor and team up with Republican gubernatorial candidate Erin Stewart. Ackert has served in the House Republican Caucus for 16 years and has run a Coventry-based electrical contracting business for over three decades. He believes that this opportunity is an opportunity for him to challenge the state's one-party system and establish more dialogue and balance.
