The primary hazard is expected to be damaging winds, with wind gusts reaching 40 mph. Heavy rain is also expected, with 1 to 1.5 inches predicted. The weather service anticipates a strong cold front creating instability leading to the storms, which will drop temperatures close to freezing for the middle of the week.
