Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a former hostage to Hamas in Gaza, was killed in a Gaza tunnel in 2024 after nearly a year in captivity. His family, who led a high-profile campaign for his release, had hoped that he would return with a message of hope during his captivity. After nearly a decade in captivity, he and five other hostages were shot dead by their captors deep underground as Israeli forces approached them. His mother, Rachel Goldberg-Pilin, has released a new book, "When We See You Again," which gives a detailed account of her grief and attempts to shed light on Hersh's captivity. The book was released after a year of mourning and follows the death of Hersh, along with five others, after 328 days of captivity.
