Lawmakers in Washington are working to find a compromise to fund the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), but the issue remains the part of the federal budget funding. The TSA Union has called for Congress to separate the agencies from the Department of Homeland Security. The White House is reportedly reviewing a new proposal by Senate Democrats and Republican U.M. Rep. Buddy Carter, both Republicans and Democrats in the Georgia Congressional Delegation, are open to compromise. While negotiations continue, long lines at the airport and not-paid TSA agents will continue without pay.
