The Los Angeles Dodgers have swept their three-game season-opening sweep over the Arizona Diamondbacks, with a 3-2 victory over the visiting team. Will Smith's late two-run home run secured the victory for the two-time defending champion Dodgers. Freddie Freeman had three hits and new Dodgers closer Edwin Diaz saved the game. The win comes one batter after Mookie Betts' two-out walk in the eighth inning. For the third consecutive game, the Diamondbacks took an early 2-0 lead. Corbin Carroll had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Eduardo Rodriguez gave up an unearned run over five innings for the team.
