The NFL's new league year officially begins on Wednesday, with the teams beginning their rosters for the 2026 season. The second day of free agency saw a marked increase in spending, with eight players or the highest-paid free agent at their position receiving an average annual salary of $8,000. However, some deals were highlighted by the financial terms of these deals, such as Tariq Woolen's affordable one-year deal for Philadelphia. Romeo Doubs' performance for Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love and New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is seen as a valuable addition to the team. Leo Chenal, who will be just 26-years-old in October, is a significant upgrade for the Washington Commanders squad, with an 86.3 defensive grade since he entered the NFL as a third-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. Alijah Vera-Tucker's 4.3% quarterback pressure rate allowed stood as the third-best in the NFL among right guards in 2024. Will Campbell is expected to be brought in by New England to help support 2025 overall.
