A new partnership between Rusk County and Community Healthcore aims to streamline care and treatment for inmates with mental health conditions in the jail. The partnership aims to use the jail-based competency restoration agreement as a testing program and to teach inmates how the legal system works. If successful, the program could expand to other county jails. The move could save the county money and potentially reduce the number of people in jail.
