Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz) has warned that the SAVE America Act could disenfranchise millions of Americans, particularly seniors, due to new identification requirements. Kelly highlighted the practical challenges faced by older voters, many who have not seen their birth certificates in decades. He warned that if implemented, the law could disenfranchize many Americans. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Rep. Ted Lieu also warned that Democrats will block the bill, warning it could purge voters, restrict registration methods, and impose strict ID and in-person requirements.
