Tommi Jo Mejer, the mother of a 14-year-old boy who hit and ran away from the scene of an E-Moto hit and run, has been charged with felony child endangerment and felony accessory after the fact, along with several misdemeanor counts. The victim, Ed Ashman, remains in critical condition in hospital. Prosecutors allege that Mejer had previously been warned about allowing her son to ride the illegal e-motorcycle and had purchased the vehicle and knew her son was riding it recklessly. If convicted, Mejans could face up to six years and eight months in state prison. The Surron Ultra Bee, a more powerful e-vehile than typical e-bicycle, can reach speeds of up to 58mph and requires a valid motorcycle license, registration, insurance and proper safety equipment to legally drive it on public roads.
