‘Cowardly’: St. Paul man sentenced for killing his neighbor with tire iron

Daniel Pen-mong Moua, a 21-year-old St. Paul man, has been sentenced to just over 10½ years in prison for killing his neighbor, James Dale Thurber, with a tire iron. Thurber was hit in the head with a traumatic brain injury and died three weeks later. The victim's mother, Elisabeth Thurber: "I forgive Daniel but I will never forgive what he did." The attack occurred on July 13 and was discovered by police in the garage of Moua's home. Police also found a tire Iron with dried blood on it.
