Special Olympics’ Comets defeat CCBDD in basketball game

The Columbiana County Special Olympics basketball team, The Comets, defeated the Columbiana Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) in the annual basketball classic. The games were held in Nace Gymnasium at David Anderson Jr. High School in Lisbon, Ohio. Michael Newman, an individual served by CCBDD, led the team with 15 points and Matthew Ferguson contributed 12 points. The Comet also won their JV game 34-6. Former coach Rich Dennison served as guest official for both games.
