President Donald Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi, a day before making the decision public, according to The Wall Street Journal. The news came as Bondi was on her way to the Supreme Court with the president as he was on his way to discuss the constitutionality of his executive order to limit birthright citizenship. Despite Bondi's request to stay on until summer, Trump declined. He announced her departure on Thursday, praising her for overseeing a significant crackdown in crime and making America safer and more secure. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as interim administrator. The decision to oust Bondi has not been announced, but several reports suggest that the president had grown frustrated with her handling of the Justice Department's investigative files into Jeffrey Epstein and the lack of prosecutions against his political foes.
