John Carroll University (JCU) will host the first-round weekend of the NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball tournaments for the first time in its history. The team, which set a record for most wins in school history, lost the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament to DePauw but secured a No. 9 ranking in the NCAA Power Index ratings and the right to host the event. The College of New Jersey will play in the first round March 6 at the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center. The men's team will also be playing in the Illinois Wesleyan pod, where they will face Grinnell College. This will be the fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history for the women.
