Possible Meteorite Crashes into a Houston Home, Tearing Through Roof and 2 Stories

A Houston resident, Sherrie James, was shocked to discover that a meteorite had crashed into her home, tearing through the roof and two stories. The incident occurred after reports of an "explosion" and sightings of a possible meteor near Highway 50 at Wiedeville Road and surrounding areas. The Ponderosa Fire Department confirmed that a piece of what appears to be a meteorited crashed through James' home and landed in the kitchen. The meteorite, which weighed an estimated ton, created a pressure wave that caused booms heard by some in the area. The Brenham Fire Department found no evidence of an explosion.
