TCU forward Marta Suarez's 8 a.m. class was cancelled after she made a public plea to Professor of English Alex Lemon, who also serves as the Director of TCU's Master of Liberal Arts Program. The plea went viral, highlighting the multiple responsibilities and duties student athletes face off during their busy season. Lemon cancelled his Monday morning "Genres" class, a class where students explore poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction and produce their own original creative writing pieces. Suarez expressed her desire to attend the class and was immediately texted by Lemon. The professor praised Suarez's "magnetic personality" and willingness to participate in class.
