The Board of Water Supply (BWS) has issued a water conservation notice for all residents on Oahu as the Kona low storm passes through the islands. The North Shore of Oahu is under a boil water notice, which advises residents to boil tap water before drinking it. Power outages from Waialua, Mokuleia, up to Kawela have affected the North Shore's entire water system, leaving BWS limited on its ability to pump water out of its wells and other water sources. BWS has restored water service to customers in Ahuimanu after a break on a property line at Valley of the Temples that drained the community's reservoir. Following a breakdown of the Honomu well, customers in the following areas are asked to reduce water use by at least 25%.
