A boil water notice is in effect for all water users in Waialua, Haleiwa, Sunset, Pupukea, and Waialee due to potential damage to the water system caused by the second Kona low. The notice advises water users to boil any tap water before drinking. The Board of Water Supply will announce when it is no longer necessary to boil water. The city is also urging residents to conserve water due to power outages affecting the utility's ability to pump water from its wells into its reservoirs.
