The Georgia Brain Tumor Walk and Race was held at the Battery Atlanta, raising awareness and funding for brain cancer patients and their families. The event was held to commemorate the late Channel 2 anchor Jovita Moore's death from glioblastoma, which is the most common form of brain cancer and there is no cure, only treatments designed to slow the disease. The walk was part of a larger effort to raise awareness and fund research for the disease, with over 1,300 participants participating. The first Jovitas WSB-TV Impact Award was given out to Julia Tiller, who has been advocating for more research and access to clinical trials.
