Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row businesses fear violence could threaten First Friday

Businesses in the Roosevelt Row Arts District in downtown Phoenix are raising concerns about violence surrounding the monthly First Friday event. Last Friday, a shooting after the event left two people injured and a suspect at large across the street. The owner of ATL Wings, Curtlin Johnson, expressed concern that the violence could damage the event's reputation. The organizer of First Friday, Downtown Phoenix Inc., has been working with the RooseveltRow Community Development Corporation to develop a plan to address crime.
