Man accused of leaving loaded gun that led to child’s shooting due in court

A 10-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the leg with a loaded gun left unattended in a parking lot in Farmington, Connecticut. The gun belonged to 19-year old Jordan Cruz, a family member of the child. Police say Cruz did not own the gun legally and was arrested. He is being held on a $300,000 bond and facing multiple charges including risk of injury to a child, negligent storage of a firearm, and illegal possession of a firearms. The child is expected to survive.
