Police were called to an apartment in Fort Wayne, Michigan, for a reported disturbance and found a partially barricaded door and a woman and man lying next to each other with apparent injuries and covered in blood. The victim died from multiple stab wounds, including 14 injuries to the head. Police also found a Phillips head screwdriver inside the apartment. The suspect, identified as Kevin I. Smith, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and formal court proceedings are pending.
