President Trump has endorsed San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond for the position he holds in the 48th Congressional District, replacing retiring Congressman Darrell Issa. The district, which previously included North San Diego and West San Diego, has been redistricted following California's controversial redistricting measure, passed with 64.4% of support from voters. The primary election will take place on June 2.
