The New York Knicks lost 114-103 to Charlotte, with coach Mike Brown again benching All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns for the final eight minutes of the game against the Hornets. This was the second consecutive game Towns had been benched due to the team's poor performance. Robinson played more minutes than Towns when both players were available. The Knicks lost the board battle 43-24, but Robinson was able to match the Hornets' physicality and score eight points when he was on the court. Despite this, Towns expressed pride that he plays regularly and has missed just four games this season and is on track for his most appearances since at least the 2018-19 season. The NBA is also in dispute with the players union over its 65-game rule for postseason awards eligibility.
