The Global Sumud Flotilla, a pro-Palestinian activist flotilla from Sicily, aims to disrupt Israel's blockade of Gaza by raising awareness and mobilizing activism. Over 60 Italian and Spanish vessels are on the way to run the Israeli blockade of the Hamas-held Gaza Strip. The flotill is set to embark on its journey from Sicily to Gaza, following an Italian contingent joining a Spanish armada. The departure from Barcelona was delayed due to stormy weather and allegations of sexual relations between a steering committee member and volunteers were dismissed. On Monday, GSW claimed it disrupted the transit of the cargo vessel MSC Maya, claiming it was part of a supply chain that facilitated the Israeli military.
