Hope Booth, a new interactive telephone booth in downtown Oklahoma City, has been introduced to provide free and interactive mental health resources to the community. The Hope Booth was designed to connect individuals with resources within a five-mile radius, such as shelters, food banks, financial services, and immigration services. The kiosk uses a sliding scale of hope and connects users to different types of support based on their level of hope, using messages of hope created by social workers and a science board of social workers. Founder and CEO of Hope Booth, Gloria Umanah, hopes the initiative can transform communities if SUICIDE is impacting one person every 40s or on the globe. The nonprofit aims to install 100 more such interactive telephone booths around the world in the next few years.
