All aboard for changes to city's park and ride

The changes to Chelmsford's park and ride service, set to take effect from 6 March, are part of a four-year contract with First Bus. The service, which runs from two sites in Sandon and Chelmer Valley, will no longer be operated after 19:30 Monday to Friday. Other changes include lowering the child ticket age from 18 to 16 years old and introducing a new £2 student ticket to sit between the child £1 fare and the £3 adult day ticket. Essex County Council confirmed that the Saturday service from Chelmer Vale would no longer operate following a consultation. The shuttle service between the Chelmer valley site and Broomfield Hospital will be unaffected.
