Anti-Trump No Kings rallies are planned for Saturday in Kane County, Illinois, from Maui to Ecuador, Saint Lucia, Puerto Rico, Iceland, Australia to Kenya. The rallies are taking place across the country, from Watertown, South Dakota, to Amarillo, Texas, Greenville, South Carolina, Topeka, Kansas, Kotzebue, Alaska; and Jackson, Mississippi. The main issue is the SAVE Act, which Heidi DeMarco of Geneva, which she alleges is a voter suppression bill that would require citizens to show documents such as a passport or birth certificate to register to vote. DeMarco argues that the bill would disenfranchise millions of voters and millions of women who changed their names from birth certificates to marriage, and would result in financial uncertainty for many who do not have the financial means to travel out of the country. The SAVE bill was defeated in a 53-47 vote by the House but failed to overcome a filibuster. Other rallies are scheduled for Saturday, with groups including We Can Lead Change, Indivisible Fox Valley Rising and Visibility Brigade.
