The Gold Line, a bus rapid transit service between Woodbury and downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, began operating a year ago, with over 430,000 rides taken last year. The service aims to provide people with more travel options for those who live along the corridor and connect them to key destinations. The Gold Line buses are more than 60 feet long, ADA accessible, and include bike racks, trash and recycling bins, and real-time departure signs so riders know when the next bus will arrive. The bus operates every day from around 5 a.m. to midnight, with service lasting every 10 to 15 minutes on weekdays and 15 to 30 minutes on weekends. Tickets are $2, which includes transfer to other Metro Transit routes for up to 2½ hours, and a $1 fare for youth, seniors and Medicare card holders. The westbound stations with the most boardings were Sun Ray in St.Paul and Woodbury.
