Campaign finance reports for state and federal candidates have revealed that the fundraising for the upcoming elections is a significant factor in which campaigns and races are competitive. The top three Republicans in the GOP ended March with $3.4 million in total, six times more than their closest challenger. MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell had the highest quarterly haul of $496,000, but spent more on consultants, ads, and copies of his own book than he did. Meanwhile, former sports broadcaster Rick Stepp led the GOP field by raising $2 million and reporting $1.8 million in the first quarter.
