The Epstein Files Transparency Act requires the government to release all documents related to Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in Epstein's sex abuse schemes. The law does not distinguish between documents related directly to Maxwell's criminal case or recent transfer to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas. The Department of Prisons transferred Maxwell from a low-security facility in Florida to a lower level facility. Despite this, Rep. Deborah Ross (D-N.C.), Jamie Raskin (D.-Md.) and Ro Khanna have written to Attorney General Pam Bondi for questioning about Maxwell's transfer. The Justice Department has also withheld significant material from the public Epstein Library to comply with the Act.
