Bentley is set to unveil its first electric model by the end of 2026. The company has filed a trademark for "Barnato" in the United States, the European Union, and the UK for this name. Woolf Barnato, who purchased a controlling stake in Bentley in 1925, drove Bentleys to three consecutive Le Mans victories while he led the company. The trademark was filed on August 20, 2025, and includes motor vehicles, parts and fittings, and charging stations for electric vehicles. This makes us fairly confident that Barnato is the name chosen for Bentley's first EV given the brand's limited involvement in electric vehicles and its confirmed absence of involvement in such vehicles.
