Compromise On Clarendon Hills Downtown Upgrades

The Clarendon Hills Village Council has decided to compromise on its proposal to replace a traffic triangle on Prospect Avenue with a plaza designed for public events. Instead, trustees plan to add retractable bollards and hardscape improvements. The proposal would cost nearly $1.2 million in the first year and construction is set to begin in the fall. However, some residents have questioned the cost of these improvements, including former trustee Greg Jordan, who argued that they should be considered against other projects.
