Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has defended President Donald Trump's involvement in the Justice Department, stating that Americans should be "happy" that he is deeply involved. This comes after Blanche became the acting head of the department after President Trump fired former Attorney General Pam Bondi due to dissatisfaction with her performance in prosecutions of his political enemies. Blanche also promised to prioritize what the Trump administration has called the “weaponization” of the justice Department against Trump, his allies, and some right-wing groups. However, he may face challenges like that of Bondi, where subpoenas for the Federal Reserve and Jerome Powell were blocked by a federal judge and cases against New York Attorney General Letitia James and former FBI Director James Comey were dismissed by a judge.
