Peruvian presidential election results will be finalised by mid-May, with challenged ballots still being reviewed. With 93 percent of ballots counted, right-wing candidate Keiko Fujimori leads with 17 percent. A close contest for second place is between left-wing and ultra-conservative Rafael Lopez Aliaga. The European Union's election observer mission has stated that the vote meets democratic standards. Despite allegations of fraud, four officials have been reported to the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), the body responsible for organising the election.
