The Justice Department is taking the case against Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, to court in New York. The lawsuit alleges that Live Nation has illegally dominated the live concert industry by monopolizing ticketing, concert booking, venues and promotions. The complaint accuses Live Nation of engaging in "anticompetitive conduct" that leads fans to pay more in fees, artists to fewer opportunities to play concerts and venues. The trial is set to begin with jury selection and is expected to last six weeks. Potential witnesses include musician Kid Rock, Minnesota Timberwolves CEO, Live Nation Entertainment CEO Matthew Caldwell, Desiree Perez, and Sons & Sons.
