Cedar Hill, a Dallas-area girls basketball team, won 41-36 over Duncanville in the Class 6A Division I Region II final after switching to a 1-3-1 zone in a recent game. The move was instrumental in Cedar Hill's victory, as they outscored Duncanville 19-5 in the final period. The team will need to contain elite scorers in their next state semifinal against Flower Mound, who is ranked 20.9 points and had previously scored 24 in a regional final. Other top players include Denton Ryan, the reigning Class 5A Division One state champion, and four-star junior guard Finley Chastain from Flower Mounds. There will be 10 Dallas-based teams playing in the UIL state semifinals, with Denton Braswell set to play state No. 6-ranked Lancaster.
