Saratoga Retirement Community breaks ground for expansion

Saratoga Retirement Community, owned by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, has broken ground for an expansion costing almost $102 million. The expansion will include three new residential buildings, a new auditorium, and 52 apartments. Concerns have been raised about the environmental impact of the project, which requires the removal of mature trees. A lecture by music historian Brian Conroy and rock memorabilia collector Bill Guardino will discuss the South Bay's role in 1960s music history.
