Driver Who Hit and Killed Father of 2 Sues the Man's Estate for PTSD, Asking for at Least $50,000 in Damages

Gavin Maas, a driver who hit and killed Anthony Miller, a father of two, is suing the estate of Miller for PTSD-related damages. Maas alleges that he was driving in the early hours of Aug. 31, 2025, when Miller was jogging in the middle of the road and that he moved his vehicle to avoid her. He claims that he then collided with Miller, who died instantly. The complaint alleges that Maas has severe PTSD from the incident and has been hospitalized multiple times due to the trauma. He is seeking damages for medical expenses, lost income and diminished earning capacity, and court costs.
