Man Died 'on Impact' After Parachute Failed to Open While He Was BASE Jumping Off Canyon, Sister Says

A 33-year-old man has died while attempting to BASE jump in Rock Canyon, Utah, according to the Provo Police Department. The victim, identified as Weston Huff, was an experienced sky diver and likely experienced a parachute malfunction. Despite being alone, Huff was pronounced dead on impact after pulling the cord and falling into an area known as "Bad Bananas." A GoFundMe page was created on behalf of Huff's family, noting that he shared a special bond with them and had been diagnosed with Tourette’s and Asperger’�s syndrome.
